The US State Department announced that Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kurt M. Campbell will travel to Australia March 20-23 as part of our ongoing consultations between the two allies. The announcement states:

Assistant Secretary Campbell arrives in Australia March 22. While there, he will meet with Foreign Minister Bob Carr, Defence Minister Stephen Smith, and other senior Australian officials.

Mr. Campbell last visited Australia at the beginning of March, just after a stop in New Zealand, to conduct meetings with senior officials in the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Department of Defence. Mr. Campbell will return to the US on Friday.
