Alaskan Soldiers Train in Asia as Part of Defense Cooperation Program

As part of the US Army’s Pacific Pathways Initiative, soldiers from Alaska are returning from several months training in Japan and Korea, where they collaborated with local forces to improve international defense cooperation capabilities.
Between 2000 and 2010, there has been a 40% increase of NHPIs migrating to the mainland United States, where they become eligible to vote in all elections. In the 2012 presidential election, the NHPI voter turnout was close to 80%.
